COHENEL's Emmanuel Omosanya has been selected to the All-ABL First Team, joining teammate Blessing Makanda as one of the top 5 players in the ABL Western Conference. The 'do-it-all' guard was an easy choice for coaches across the league, who vote for who they feel the best players in the league are, for the end of season awards.
Omosanya averaged 16.6 points per game, alongside 4.7 assists per game, 4.6 steals per game and 38.7% shooting from beyond the three point arc. The silky smooth guard was amongst the league leaders in 3 different statistics categories (assists, steals and 3pt fg%), while fitting into a balanced Warriors attack (5 players averaged double figure scoring this season).
COHENEL enjoyed their most successful season in school history under Omosanya's leadership, with an overall record of 19-3 and finishing as ABL national runners-up (#2 in the country). Often relied upon in clutch moments of key games this season, Omosanya delivered time and time again - establishing himself as an undeniable talent who has the ability to play at the next level.
"Eman can play college basketball in the states. No question. He's long, can shoot, dribble, drive and pass and plays to win. He was easy for me to coach and always responded to everything I gave him. Him and Blessing (Makanda) have really been program builders for us here, putting us on the national map and representing COHENEL the right way. I'm proud of him being recognised as a First Team All-ABL selection, but definitely not surprised." - AJ Roberts
The ABL is an invitation only competition that comprises of 40 the top teams from across England, split into four conferences. Colleges that have shown high levels of performance are invited to compete in the ABL, which runs a weekly competition for elite athletes throughout the academic year.
