VENUE LOCATION
Mini-Hoopers is a new Hoopstars class for 5-7 year old boys and girls. After gathering feedback from our parents, we realised there are a significant number of younger 'hoopers' who want and need their own class and are not quite ready to play with the older 8-12 year olds.
Mini-Hoopsers classes provide structured weekly coaching sessions that introduce the basketball fundamentals, step-by-step through fun-filled games that focus on body balance, agility awareness, hand-eye corordination and an introduction to dribbling, passing, catching and footwork.
This class is ideal for beginners and will prepare 5-7 year olds well for the Junior Varsity Hoopstars sessions that follow on from this class.
WINTER TERM
8th January - 2nd April 2023
This class takes place on SUNDAYS and is for the Autumn Term, which begins on the 8th January and ends on 2nd April 2023.

Structured weekly coaching sessions that teach the basketball fundamentals, step-by-step. Ideal for beginners through to intermediate.
This session will teach your child how to correctly dribble (with both hands), while introducing the basic stances, offensive and defensive footwork, balance, co-ordination and spatial awareness necessary to progress up the skills ladder within the sport.
You will also learn how to correctly pass the ball and taught correct techniques across the primary passes used in all basketball gameplay. You'll be introduced to correct shooting techniques (both stationary and in movement) so your child understands how to correctly shoot the basketball for optimum success.
Towards the end of the term, coaches begin to focus on integrating newly acquired skills into competitive game play.
At the end of the term, your child's progress will be assessed during a grading session where they can earn either a 1 or 2 Star Award, ready for progression upwards the the following term.

Come and learn advanced basketball techniques and be coached through challenging drills in our Hoopstars Advanced classes.
These sessions are for players who have previous experience and who are comfortably able to perform basic fundamentals (dribbling, passing, shooting) correctly. If you are not comfortable in these areas, please sign up for one of the other Hoopstars classes. This class prepares players for their 4th and 5th star awards.
